General Relief Society Meeting

I went on Saturday with my friend Stacy to the General Relief Society Meeting in Salt Lake at the Conference Center... We had the best seats ever... WOW what a site to be seen... When the Prophet walked into the room a quiet hush came about... Every woman was standing quietly as he took his seat... The room filled with a great and wonderful spirit as the Relief Society General Presidentcy each gave beautiful talks... Each spoke of ways to lift each other up as sisters of Zion and do our jobs as woman of this great church... To help our husbands the great priesthood holders to carry out the building and planning of Zion... I am so thankful for the priesthood and for Owen to be worthy to hold the priesthood to have it in my home for my family... I am thankful for my Dad to grow up with the preisthood in my home... I have much respect for these two men in my life and all they have done for me and my family... I just want to say THANK YOU!!! I LOVE YOU

Am I nuts?

Ok-Today I went to take Noah to football practice and wouldn't you know it no one on his team was anywhere to be found. We drove from park to park and everyone who lives here knows we have a ton of them... So I call Owen to get Noah's coaches phone number and find out he has practice in North Ogden at 6:00 and it's 5:45... The coach asked Noah what happened to his note???? Well, Noah didn't think he needed one so he left with out it yesterday after practice... So here I am in my socks and no one is ready and I have little gas in my car sooooo-I drove home to leave the rest of the kids with Chance and went to the bank, went to put gas in my car and drove Noah to North Ogden... As I have no idea where the heck I am going only to turn on to 2700 go to North Ogden and turn South after you pass the church... But we found it 25 min. late but he made it yea !!!!! As I could only tell Noah HELLO this would have been nice to know : ) What can I say, only that he is 9 : ) A few weeks ago I was taking Mitchell to football practice and we passed a cop on the side of the road and I said I hope you all have your seat belts on there is a cop right there on the side of the road and Seth looks over at the cop car and said that's not a COP that's a HUMAN.... What the heck does my son think a cop is : )I had to just laugh... The days of a mother just could never be without a laugh... For me I just try and laugh at everything so that I don't get upset... Because tonight I just wanted to be so mad at Noah but when I looked at Noah's face he was so mad at himself I didn't need to get mad-I just told him we all make mistakes and learn from them... Next time Noah will bring the note home : )... Some days I just have to ask myself AM I NUTS???

Jiselles Drama

Last night Jiselle got ran over by Seths friend that was on a bike it was to big for him and he couldn't stop and ran right over her. Jiselles head was bleeding all over the place and she was freaking out. I washed it off and it was a little hole in her head. She wanted a band aid because you know that makes everything better and then she was all smiles.

Taking out the trash

OK-I have had lesson after lesson about music and this was something just weighing on my mind so strongly. I have always bought the Now Cd's because it's the so called clean version of todays music. If I thought it was a bad song I would just skip it. Well I am a little naive about things and don't know to much about what some songs are about. I have been listening to the Cd's for a few days now and I feel so bad about what I have been listening to with my kids in the car. As I watch My oldest son growing up, I don't want it to be my fault he has bad ideas in his mind about things. So I got all my Cd's out tonight and threw them all in the TRASH... I feel like a weight has been lifted off me tonight, as I can sleep in peace for I know that I have done the right thing and from now on we will only be listening to good uplifting music. Thanks to our RS lesson today it was the final push for me to just do it...My kids are such sweet spirits to let their minds be filled with such filth. Mitchell, Noah, Seth and Jiselle I want to apologise for my bad example and hope that we can have a fresh start about what's OK and what's not. I AM SO SORRY.

UFC 88 Fight Night

It was fight night at the Causey home last night. UFC 88... We had our famous home made pizza that all the kids love. They all pitched in to help Owen out. Then they all went to bed while we watched the fights. Rashad Evans had the best knockout I have ever seen and it was amazing!!! Evans fought the perfect fight against the former light heavyweight champ Chuck (The Ice Man) Liddell. Evans knocked him out cold with the best punch knockout I think in UFC history. It was AWESOME!!!!

YEA for Mitchell

Every game Mitchell's coach gives out footballs to the few players who do great things. Then he gives the game ball to the one kid that did his best and gave his all in the game. This week the game ball went to my very own Mitchell. He received it because he never gave up and played his hardest in this game and then got an interception. Mitchell be proud of yourself for your determination you work hard at playing your best and always remember it's not about the score it's for the love of the game...

Peach Days in Brigham City

It was Peach Days here this weekend in Brigham City (kind of like the fair) and it was a blast!!! We now only live about a block away from all the fun... So we walked everywhere this year. We went and looked at all the fun booths and lots of good food.(my favorite was the peach cobbler YUM). Mitchell and Justin had fun watching everyone around them. They had gotten themselves some really cool sun glasses and I wish I had a picture of that : ). We went to the parade and Seth and Jiselle got lots and lots of candy Ya!!! Noah, Jiselle and Kaylee got to have their face painted and Noah was Brigham City Bees football all the way : ) What a fun weekend.

Kirtland Ohio

We went to see the Newel K. Whitney Store that was built in 1826. This was an important store because it was used as a gathering place in the community. Whitney provided rooms in the store for church meetings, offices, and a home for Joseph Smith and his family. The feelings here were so great knowing of all the great things that happened here. We also went to the Kirtland Temple which was the first LDS temple to be built in the later-day era, began in 1833, and the temple was dedicated on March 27, 1836. This was just awesome to see. To end the day we went Mary Yoder's Amish Kitchen which is located in a quiet Amish Countryside in Middlefield, Ohio. This was some great home cooking with all you can eat dinner and dessert to die for : ) To also see all the horse and buggies was so fun to watch. This was the last day we were all together. The next day we all left to go back home. I want my Mom and Sisters to know that this vacation was life changing for me. I learned so much and am a different person because of this trip. I had so much fun but besides the fun my testimony has grown so much. It has inspired me to be a better person and change all the things about myself that I have always wanted to change. It has given me the strength that I am in need of. I am so thankful for Tami who was inspired to invite us all to go on this trip together and I am thankful to you for that. I feel closer to you all now than ever and I am so glad that we could share this experience together. This was a trip of a life time!!! I love you all!!!

Niagara Falls Canada

Niagara Falls was just an awesome adventure with a breath taking views that you just can't explain only that it's just an amazing site to be seen. We went to the Journey Behind The Falls and we went through underground tunnels that take you right to the base of the Horseshoe Falls. We walked behind the falls to just feel the thunder of Niagara. Then we went on the Maid of the Mist and this was a huge boat ride into the mist of the water rushing all around us. We all got soaked in this exciting 30 min. ride and it was just a thrill of a life time. We went to all kinds of shops and also got to go to the Hard Rock Cafe Niagara. Then to end the night we watched the fire works go right over the falls. What a beautiful site...

Sacred Grove

At the age of 14, Joseph Smith felt a great desire to know which church to join. While reading the Bible, he came across James 1:5-"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God." After much reflection, Joseph decided to do as James directed. On a beautiful spring morning in 1820 he went to a nearby grove of trees to pray. In response to his prayer, God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to Joseph and directed him to join no church that was established, but instead to wait for futher direction in the restoration of Christ's Church. This to me was the most sacred and meaningful site. When I think of what Joseph said "I had a vision;I knew it,and I knew that God knew it, and I could not deny it,neither dared I do it." I myself can not deny the feelings I felt as I sat to ponder in the Sacred Grove. What a wonderful moment that was for me to witness of the truthfulness of this gospel. That one memory will never be forgotten in all my life here on earth. I am so thankful to this 14 yr old boy who had a vision who all the time after this vision suffered severe persecution at the hands of all class of men, did continue to affirm that he had seen a vision.

Hill Cumorah/Book of Mormon Publication Site

I was able to go on vacation to Buffalo NY with my Mom and three Sisters the end of August. The first place we went to was The Hill Cumorah.
In A.D. 421 Moroni, the last survivor of a great civilization that had inhabited the Americans since about 600B.C.,buried in this hill a set of golden plates on which was recorded the history of his people. In 1827 Moroni returned to this hill as an angle and delivered the plated to Joseph Smith, who translated the golden plates from which came the Book Of Mormon. Written anciently by the spirit of prophecy and revelation, It testifies that Jeasus is the Christ and Redeemer of all mankind. He published them as the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. The Spirit here was so very strong. The day was so peaceful and beauitful and to think of Angel Moroni delivering the golden plates Joseph Smith right here on this hill that I was now standing on was amazing. I was so thankful that I was so belssed to beable to be at this historic site.

Then we went to the Book of Morman Publicaton Site. On June 11th 1829 Joseph Smith recieves a copyright for the Book of Mormon. In late June, Joseph completes the translation and negotiates with Grandin who owned the printing and publishing business for publication of 5,000 copies. The initial negotiations failed, but in August, Grandin agreed after Martin Harris offered to mortagage his farm to guarantee payment of the $3,000 contract. Oliver Cowdery begins to copy the original manuscript as directed by Joseph. The first 24 pages of this printers copy were delivered to Grandin for printing to begin. On January 30th Grandin stops printing due to threats of boycott form the Palmyra. Joseph and Martin assured him he would recieve full payment upon completion. The printing was resumed the next day. The printing of the 592 page book was completed in late February and binding begins immediately. The March 26th edition of the Wayne Sentinel advertises that the Book of Mormon is for sale and eleven days later the Church was organized. April 7th, Martin Harris sold his 151 acres of his farm to pay the agreed upon $3,000. In July the binding of the books was completed for all the remaining books, approximately two years after the project began. When I think of how much work went into the Book of Mormon from the time the Angel Moroni delivered the plates to Joseph Smith to the time they were published and all he went through for all of us I am amazed. I am so Thankful for this man and the truthfulness he has brought to me and my family. I am thankful for all the sacrifices he made so that I can have this wonderful book to help guide me through this life.
