*It's official* Owen is a student

Owen is all signed up and ready to go into a new career... Culinary Arts... He starts his classes on April 5th and is really excited to start doing what he loves! I am so proud of him because this decision was really hard for him to make. He has been home for about 7 weeks and applied for tons of jobs and NOTHING... This will be a trial for us but I know that we will be blessed through our efforts to better ourselves and our situation. I am busy looking for a full time job with benefits since we lost them when Owen was laid off. I know that times are tough but we are doing our best to make the best of it. It will all be worth it to get Owen through school and that's what we look forward to. Can't Wait!!! So excited for you babe-YOU WILL DO GREAT!!!!

FORGIVENESS

Today was I think a healing day for Noah. The mother of one of the kids that beat Noah up came over today and brought her son with her to try to find out what had happened. She had just got into town today and the police had gone to her house and talked to her and let her know what had happened. She was a really nice lady who just wanted the boys to make a mends and be friends again. Come to find out her son really didn't even know why he did it only to follow his friend because that's what his friend wanted him to do. Noah and I sat out side and talked to them for awhile and the kids were able to talk about what had happened and the kid told Noah he was sorry. They decided to forgive, forget and put this in the past. I was so proud of the boys and the way they were to each other and for the mother I am thankful that she cared enough to come and talk to us. She told me she didn't raise her kid to be like this and you know what neither did I. After they left I asked Noah how he felt about it all and he said - I think you should invite him over for a play date. I had to laugh-it was so funny to hear that come from Noah. This is what I want Noah to remember that it's just not worth it to hurt someone else no matter what we can always find a better way to solve the problem then to hurt someone. Noah I am so proud of you and you are a great example to me to be so quick to forgive.

Noah got jumped

On Friday after school Jiselle got to the truck with the most serious look on her face and Owen asked her where Noah was and she said he's getting beat up... Then Noah came walking with a few friends around the corner and he was crying... Come to find out that two kids one about Noah's size and one Mitchell's size punched him and hit his cheek and scraped right underneath his eye knocked him down and just started kicking the crap out of him... Noah was left defenceless... Owen took him to the office but because it happened off school grounds they couldn't do anything about it so he called the police... He filed a report and decided not to press charges this time but told him if it happens again we will... I hate not being able to know that my child is safe while away from me... My heart has been broken because when I see my child go through fear and pain I do also... He said to me yesterday-Mom I think I need to take Monday and Tuesday off school because how do I know they won't do this again? I told him that we don't know if they will or not but I will walk to go get him from the front of the school... I know Noah is not afraid to fight but this was so messed up... For them to have it planned and jump him just makes me livid... I just don't understand kids and the fact that they think this is okay... Mind you they are in 5th grade and this kids that's Noah's size just started a fight with Noah at school two weeks ago and got suspended... SAD I KNOW... Noah stay strong and know that I love you son... This was not your fault... It's a messed up situation that should never happen to anyone... Just know that Dad and I are here for you ALWAYS!!!
