Contention Is Of The Devil
For the past two days my kids have had so much contention between each other and I would say it's more than just fighting amongst siblings. I really don't know what's going on or what I should do. All I know is it's really is messing with my sleep. I get off work at 7:30 in the morning and get home with hopes of sleeping for at least 5 hours or a little more if I can, because I have to go back to work that night again. Well, for the past two days I have had my kids come to my room every hour if not twice within an hour, because of fights crying or hurt feelings. I have had zero sleep and have woke up feeling like the worst mother not knowing how to help them get along. They are now grounded for the week in hopes that they will be able to find peace among each other and realize that contention is really of the devil. We have a loving Heavenly Father that would never want to see siblings hurt and fight with each other, call names and belittle one another. It's just not right and not what I have taught them. Respect is what I feel has been lacking in the Causey house this week. Our Loving Heavenly Father has shown us through example to treat each other as we would want to be treated and I know that's not what's up in my house right now. So the question is why? Why do they each feel like how they are treating each other is ok? Some how they are justifying their actions as being ok or they wouldn't do it. The weird thing is when I get up, it all stops and the house is quiet. Is it me? Does it make them unhappy that I sleep during the day? Is it my attention they want and need? I have been really thinking about this so much, because it hurts me to watch Satan inch his way into my home, which is our temple. So how do I get it to stop?
I don't know how to get them to stop, but I can teach them by example. My kids have grown up in a house where this saying LOVE ONE ANOTHER has been taught their whole life. It's no different today as it was yesterday how important this saying is. Jesus Christ showed by example everyday of his life to love one another. He even gave his life on the cross because he loved us so much. I know the love my kids have for each other. I have seen them show it many times. I have chosen to work at night while they are sleeping and sacrifice my sleep so I can be home with them during the day. I may be sleeping, but I am home. I love my kids with all my heart and I would do anything for them. I will work day and night to get them to understand how important it is to Love One Another and to Respect each other. I know it's a trial that we each have to go through. Satan is real. He knows each one of our weakness and he will get you when he can. My job as the mother is to not let Satan get in between my kids or into my temple (my home). Not an easy job being a mother, but really I wouldn't have it any other way! Watch out Satan this mama is going to take you out!!!!!
My Friend Danny
This is my friend Danny. He has been a guest at the hotel I work at for over a year now. I first met him while being a house keeper, but when I started working the night audit at the front desk is when he became my friend. Danny worked different hours at his job, so there were a lot of nights that he couldn't sleep. He would come down and talk to me at night sometimes for an hour. We talked about vacations, family, jobs and life in general. He had just told me a few weeks ago that he found a house here and was so excited to move his family up to Utah and when he talked about it his face just lit up with excitement! He was just a super sweet man who could just make you laugh. A few weeks ago he left the hotel and didn't come back. We worked together with the police department doing everything possible to find him. I had the hardest time, because I knew in my heart that something was really wrong. My coworker and friend Julie was really good friends with him also. She also spent a lot of nights getting to know him. She amazed me, because she knew just where he would be headed and we called all the hotels, police station and really anywhere we could think he might be. We found nothing. She even got in her car and started to drive to the town she thought he would be in, but got a phone call saying that his car had been found so she turned around and drove home. A little while later she received another phone call saying that the car belonged to someone else. After four days of searching for him we got a call from the family that he had been found. He had rolled his car going just where Julie said he would be and he had passed away from injuries due to the car accident. On one hand I was so relieved that he was found, but on the other hand we had just wanted so badly for him to walk in the door with that smile on his face and chat again. I know that Danny is in a better place now and that he really knows how many people just love him. Life is short and you never know when your time on earth will end, but I know that the Lord has a plan for each of us and that he puts people in your life at different times, people who have an impact on you in different ways or you have a impact on them. I found this quote the day after I found out what had happened to Danny.
"Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born." ~ Anais Nin~
To me this quote is so true. Each friend represents a place within us that we don't even realize is missing until we meet that person and then a new place within our heart is filled.
I will miss all the late night talks at work rest in peace Danny ♥

Happy Bithday Mitchell

Look who is 14... I can't believe my little 5 pound peanut is now 71 inches and 166 pounds of football muscle... What can I say about Mitchell. I was 18 years old when I was pregnant with him and at 26 weeks along I went into preterm labor. When I got to the hospital they checked me I was dilated to a 2, 80% effaced and was in labor. The nurse did an ultrasound and said he only weighed about a pound. I remember being so scared. I was given a blessing that night by a good family friend and the next morning when the nurse checked me she couldn't believe it, but I was not effaced at all. A miracle had happened one I knew was the work of the Lord. It was at that moment that I knew Mitchell was a very important child of God. He has an important work to do on this earth. After 2 weeks in the hospital and 11 weeks of bed rest. Mitchell finally arrived. He was born a month early at 36 weeks and had a lot of problems. The birth of Mitchell was not easy. His heart rate went tumbling and just kept falling. I remember them yelling at me to push him out. I broke every little blood vessel in my face, arms and chest pushing so hard. I will never forget the worried look on my mothers face as she knew what was really going on. They used the suction on his head trying to pull him out and nothing. They did this over and over till finally Mitchell was born. I will never forget the first time I saw him, he was blue and pretty life less. They took him away and started working on him. A little while later they let me hold him before they took him. I remember as I held him and held the oxygen on his face, I was so grateful he was alive and breathing on his own with just a little bit of help. He is the most amazing son! Mitchell is very compassionate and cares about everyone. He has a very tender heart. He loves to hang with his friends and his new passion is long boarding. He is a very determined person as he lifts weights every night before he goes to bed so he can do his best during the football season. Although his real passion is football, he also plays baseball and basketball. He is a great brother and even lets Seth and Noah hang out with him and his friends every once awhile. Seth looks up to him so much that he is a little mini Mitchell. What a great big brother to have. Mitchell is a hard worker and I love to see his smile, it just lights up the room. I love this kid so much and am so grateful that he is my son. He has a strong testimony of the gospel and is a good example to everyone around him. He is now working towards earning his eagle... Mitchell Happy Birthday Bud, I love you so much!!! I hope you will always remember the love I have for you! You are a true miracle!
