OUR NEW MATTRESS
Happy 13 year anniversary to us... Being laid off is one thing but being laid off and not sleeping is another. Owen switched me sides of the bed a few weeks ago because he couldn't sleep anymore and his back was hurting every morning when he woke up. Well he was sleeping better after that but as for me NOT! I thought I was going to go CRAZY! After a few visits to the chiropractor and not sleeping anymore along with the stress of life we decided the weekend he got back from Tucson that we would go buy a mattress. WOW what a difference it has made... I think we both sleep like babies. We got a king mattress and so believe it or not Owen's feet don't even hang off the bottom of the bed anymore SO AWESOME! We hated to spend the money but it was worth every penny we spent. We may be stressed out but at least we can sleep now and that helps us deal with life a little better. What a blessing a good mattress is...

Parenting With Love

I took Owen to the airport on Sunday the day of our 13 th anniversary. Never thought we would be going through something like this. He is in Tucson Arizona for a job interview. I can say that I am so thankful that he has this interview. It brings hope to me that things will get better. On Sunday night Mitchell, Noah and Seth got into a huge fight and Noah tried to choke Mitchell and Mitchell punched Noah in the face all three boys where crying and Mitchell came and slept in Jiselle's room on the floor and Seth came and slept in my room. So on the way to school on Monday I told them that it's not ok for them to act this way. They have been taught better then that and they need to think before they react. I had them all apologize to each other and say prayer. Then about 12:00 I got a phone call from the principal and Noah was playing football at recess and a kid pushed him as they both went for the ball so Noah of course pushed him back and on to the ground they go. As the other kids pushed Noah off he was fighting them so in the end it was Noah against everyone. What the heck he not only fights one kid but everyone else also. I just don't understand that and I don't understand boys... So when he got home I had him watch some videos about making better choices and Mitchell came home and said what are you doing Noah? Noah said I'm learning something. So funny! I had them listen to the testimony of the Prophets and think about the decisions they were making. For family night we had a good lesson out of the friend that was just about all this and how to make better decisions. I told them to always remember two things #1 as they go throughout their day they need to think what would Jesus do and when they get home and walk in the door #2 to always return with honor. Be proud of the decisions they made that day and the person they are. Boy is motherhood hard sometimes. I know that I have good kids and I love them so much. Noah will have lots of time at home this week but in the end he will learn to Forgive Forget and Move On.....

This is why we are one of the AMERICAN families that have lost our job and are looking to lose our house and be on unemployment... I saw this video and just wanted to CRY... Owen worked for ATK Launch Systems and we made it until the third set of layoffs. Owen was laid off January 28th after about 1700 layoffs from ATK so far with more on the way. I thought that the President was all about making more jobs for US THE AMERICAN CITIZENS? What happened to that? What happened to the space program? I am sad at how this has affected my family and also those around me. It is so hard to sit back and watch those families around us lose everything and struggle to make it. We have been told from our church leaders how to be prepared for this and we didn't ever get to the point we needed to be at for this to be ok. As we struggle to make it through this trial we have learned that the material things we have here on this earth mean NOTHING. Family is everything and we will do our best to care for our children and make sure their needs are met. We as a family can't have wants anymore. That's life for us and so many around us. Just remember if you are going through this, never give up on yourself, your spouse, your children and most of all the Lord. I know that we will make it through our trials and will be ok in the end that's all that matters. That doesn't mean that we won't suffer: He NEVER said it would be EASY-He said it would be WORTH it... NEVER GIVE UP!!!
